Welcome to Your Headshot Session

Hello! I’m Lisa and I am looking forward to meeting and photographing you! I wanted to introduce myself briefly and share a little bit about what to expect and the next steps as we begin preparing for your shoot.

My private studio is located in the heart of historic Old Town Alexandria, where I've specialized in contemporary, magazine-style headshots and personal branding photography since 2014.

My goal is simple: to create the best photos you've ever seen of yourself—while still looking like you. Just the most confident, approachable, and polished version of yourself.

Whether you enjoy being in front of the camera or usually avoid it, I'll guide you through every step of the process so your experience feels relaxed, efficient, and enjoyable.

Everything you need to know before your appointment is below.

Book Your Session

Select your appointment below.

Please allow approximately 15 minutes for your appointment.

10 minutes – Guided photography with a variety of poses and expressions
5 minutes – Review your images and select your favorite before you leave the studio

Your clothing should reflect how you would typically dress for an important client meeting, court appearance, or firm event. Hogan Lovells Cadwalader's photography standards call for classic, professional business attire.

I Recommend

  • A well-tailored suit, blazer, or professional dress

  • Men should plan to wear a jacket and tie.

  • A pressed dress shirt or blouse

  • Solid colors or subtle textures

  • Navy, charcoal, gray, black, white, cream, and muted blues photograph especially well.

  • Simple, understated jewelry and accessories.

  • Clothing that fits well through the shoulders and sleeves.

Long sleeves generally photograph better than short sleeves.

If you're deciding between two jackets, ties, or blouses, feel free to bring both. I'm happy to help you decide which photographs best.

Please Avoid

  • Busy patterns or small checks

  • Bright neon colors

  • Large logos or graphics

  • Heavy or distracting jewelry

  • Wrinkled clothing

  • Clothing that requires frequent adjustment

Preparing for Your Session

A little preparation goes a long way toward creating your best headshot.

  • Get a good night's sleep the night before.

  • Stay hydrated the day before and the day of your session.

  • Lay out your outfit the evening before so you're not rushing.

  • Make sure your clothing is clean, pressed, or steamed.

  • Style your hair as you normally would for work.

  • If you wear makeup, keep it polished and natural.

  • Most importantly, relax and leave the rest to me. I'll guide you through every pose and expression so you look your best.

My private studio is located in the heart of historic Old Town Alexandria, just minutes from Washington, DC.

The studio is located on the second floor of the brick Town & Country Properties office building on North Washington Street, between Princess Street and Queen Street.

Parking

Parking is typically easy and convenient.

  • Metered parking is usually available directly in front of the studio after 9:00 AM.

  • Free two- to three-hour street parking is often available on Queen Street and Princess Street.

Please allow a few extra minutes to park and make your way upstairs before your appointment.

Upon Arrival

Please wait in the reception area of my studio, and I'll come greet you as soon as I've finished with the client scheduled before you.

If you need to use the restroom, one is located just outside the studio.

If you become lost or are running late, please text me at 202-888-1487. I'll return your call as soon as I'm able.

Because appointments are scheduled back-to-back, I may not be able to accommodate clients who arrive more than a few minutes late.

Image Delivery

After your appointment, your selected image will be professionally retouched while maintaining a natural appearance.

Once complete:

  • You'll receive your finished high-resolution digital headshot.

  • A copy will also be provided to the Hogan Lovells Cadwalader design team in accordance with the firm's photography standards.

Rescheduling Policy

If your schedule changes, the session retainer paid by Hogan Lovells Cadwalader may be applied toward a rescheduled appointment, provided I receive at least 14 days' notice before your originally scheduled session.

Your rescheduled headshot appointment must take place within six months of your original session date.

Appointments rescheduled with less than 14 days' notice will incur a $190 rescheduling fee.
